About Austin Dog Manners/ Julie Touray, CPDT

I’m a professional dog trainer with years of experience helping dogs and their owners reach their full potential. My passion is creating strong bonds between dogs and people while teaching skills that last a lifetime. I work with a wide range of dogs—from playful puppies and family pets to service dogs and working K9s—ensuring that each program is customized to fit the dog’s needs and the owner’s goals. I began my career in the animal care industry, gaining hands-on experience as a veterinary technician and kennel manager. These roles taught me the importance of understanding canine behavior, health, and safety in all settings. I learned how to observe subtle cues in body language, prevent stress or aggression, and ensure every dog is treated with care and respect. This foundation allows me to approach training in a way that is both effective and compassionate. Over the years, I have specialized in working with puppies, helping them develop socialization, confidence, and foundational obedience skills to set them up for success as adult dogs. I also train service dogs, guiding them through task-specific obedience, public access skills, and problem-solving so they can reliably assist their handlers. For K9 dogs, I focus on structure, control, and skill reinforcement to maintain their high performance in demanding environments. My training philosophy combines positive reinforcement, consistency, and real-world practice. I focus not only on teaching dogs but also on educating owners. I provide tools, guidance, and support so owners feel confident maintaining their dog’s skills and strengthening their relationship long after training sessions end. What sets my programs apart is the attention to each dog’s individual needs, the variety of skills I bring from my veterinary and kennel background, and my commitment to supporting owners for the life of their dog. Whether you’re raising a puppy, training a service dog, or managing a high-energy working K9, I am here to help your dog thrive and your life together be more enjoyable.
